In a post on social media platform X, Goyal expressed gratitude to CM Fadnavis for chairing a high-level review meeting focused on transforming Uttar Mumbai into “Uttam Mumbai.” He highlighted that the initiative prioritises providing citizens with improved healthcare, modern infrastructure, and enhanced civic amenities.
“I thank CM Fadnavis for chairing a review meeting today for transforming Uttar Mumbai into ‘Uttam Mumbai’ by ensuring world-class services are available to citizens,” Goyal stated.
Focus on Infrastructure and Connectivity
Earlier in the day, CM Fadnavis chaired a detailed review meeting addressing various issues concerning the Mumbai North Lok Sabha constituency, in the presence of Goyal and senior officials.
Fadnavis noted that multiple infrastructure projects are currently underway in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), which are expected to significantly improve transportation speed and connectivity across the city. He also instructed officials to develop a policy for effective utilisation of housing stock reserved for project-affected citizens.
Land Development and Policy Measures
The Chief Minister further emphasised the need to accelerate development on land parcels under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). He directed authorities to conduct a joint survey with central agencies and submit a consolidated land proposal to the Central Government.
Additionally, Fadnavis ordered the appointment of a nodal officer to expedite pending legal cases involving MMRDA lands, in line with court directives.

Healthcare and Civic Upgrades
Highlighting the importance of public health infrastructure, Fadnavis instructed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to upgrade equipment, sanitation, and staffing at key healthcare facilities, including Shatabdi and Bhagwati hospitals.
He also directed officials to fast-track the demarcation of Mumbai’s village settlements to ensure that residents receive adequate civic amenities without delay.
Future Projects and Urban Vision
Among the key proposals discussed was the development of a world-class convention centre in Gorai, inspired by Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. The project is expected to boost Mumbai’s profile as a hub for global events and conferences.
“These initiatives will go a long way in redefining Mumbai’s urban landscape, delivering faster connectivity, superior healthcare, and a dignified standard of living for every citizen,” Fadnavis said.
The coordinated push by the state government reflects a broader vision to transform Mumbai into a modern, efficient, and globally competitive metropolis.
