Adani Group Rs 70000 Cr Investment in Vidarbha:
The Adani Group on Friday unveiled a massive Rs 70,000 crore long-term investment roadmap for Vidarbha, spanning energy, infrastructure, logistics, aviation, and community development. The announcement positions the Maharashtra region as a future hub of clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and integrated logistics.

The roadmap was outlined at the Advantage Vidarbha 2026 conclave, where Adani Airports Director Jeet Adani described the Group’s presence in the region as “generational, not transactional.”

Energy Backbone Strengthened
The Adani Group already operates Maharashtra’s largest 3,300 MW supercritical thermal power plant at Tiroda and revived the 600 MW Butibori power plant in 2025. Through a 25-year supply agreement, the Group now provides 6,600 MW of electricity to the state, combining solar energy from Khavda with thermal generation to maintain grid stability.
“This power backbone supports Maharashtra’s industries, cities and digital economy,” Jeet Adani said.
He added that Vidarbha is emerging as a critical pillar in Maharashtra’s growth, backed by infrastructure expansion and private sector participation.
Rs 70,000 Crore Coal Gasification Complex
A major highlight of the roadmap is the proposed Integrated Coal Gasification and Downstream Derivatives Complex at Linga in Kalmeshwar, with an investment of Rs 70,000 crore.
The project is expected to:
• Generate around 30,000 direct jobs
• Develop advanced chemical manufacturing capabilities
• Reduce India’s import dependence on key industrial inputs
Jeet Adani described the project as a platform for “national self-reliance” that could place Nagpur on the global map of clean-energy-linked industrial technologies.
Logistics and Mining Expansion
To strengthen Vidarbha’s role as a logistics gateway, the Group is developing a 75-acre Inland Container Depot at Borkhedi and has acquired 24 border check posts across Maharashtra to reduce freight costs and enhance export competitiveness.
The underground coal mine at Gondkhairi was highlighted as a model of responsible mining, with minimal land use, zero displacement, no blasting, rainwater harvesting, and zero effluent discharge.

Aviation & MRO Hub at MIHAN
Vidarbha’s aviation ecosystem is also expanding with the acquisition of Indamer Technics Pvt Ltd and the expansion of a 30-acre Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at MIHAN in Nagpur.
The MRO complex, featuring 15 aircraft bays and certified by both the FAA and DGCA, is being positioned as an international aviation maintenance hub integrated with the Air Works global network.
Sustainability & Social Development
Jeet Adani said the Tiroda plant follows zero-water-discharge practices and recycles fly ash for cement and agricultural use. The Group has pledged to plant 100 million trees by 2030, while Adani Energy Solutions aims to source 60 per cent of its energy from renewables by 2027.
Through the Adani Foundation, initiatives in Gondia and Nagpur include primary healthcare, education, women’s self-help groups, clean water access, solar lighting, and sports development.
The Vidarbha strategy aligns with the Group’s broader commitment to Maharashtra, including MoUs worth $66 billion signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos last month, covering renewable energy, logistics, data centres, and infrastructure.
“Vidarbha is ready to lead,” Jeet Adani said, affirming the Group’s long-term commitment to economic resilience and sustainable growth in the region.
