The initiative was rolled out by the Directorate of Elementary Education within a day of a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on educational monitoring and FLN outcomes. The digital platform is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making in the school education sector.

Digital Monitoring for Better Learning Outcomes

The Online School Monitoring System was formally inaugurated by School Education Secretary Dr. Milind Dharamrao Ramteke, IAS, during a workshop organized by the NIPUN Tripura Cell and the Pre-Primary Cell under the Directorate of Elementary Education.

The system has been conceptualized to facilitate regular monitoring of schools through digital reporting mechanisms. According to officials, it will enable the Education Department to access real-time information regarding school functioning, academic performance, and learning outcomes for the first time.

Key Role for BRPs and CRPs

Addressing the workshop, Dr. Ramteke emphasized the crucial role of Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs) in strengthening foundational education for students of Classes I to V.

Under the new framework, BRPs and CRPs will be required to visit assigned schools at least once every fifteen days and submit inspection reports through the online platform. These reports will be monitored at both district and state levels, allowing authorities to identify challenges and implement corrective measures promptly.

Increased Accountability and Teacher Assessment

The Secretary also announced that Inspectors of Schools will regularly assess academic standards among students from Classes VI to X through scheduled and surprise inspections.

Teachers will conduct student assessments using the digital platform, enabling systematic tracking of learning progress. The department plans to introduce accountability measures to ensure students achieve class-appropriate learning outcomes.

Officials stated that teachers who demonstrate significant improvements in student performance will be recognized and incentivized as part of the initiative.

Training Conducted Across Eight Districts

The programme was attended by SCERT Director Smt. L. Darlong, Director of Elementary Education Harshita Biswas, and State Nodal Officer of NIPUN Mission and Branch Officer of the Pre-Primary Cell, Abhijit Samajpati, among other officials.

Harshita Biswas reiterated the department’s commitment to quality education and stressed the importance of coordinated efforts by inspectors, BRPs, CRPs, and teachers to improve student learning outcomes.

To ensure smooth implementation, Inspectors of Schools from both state and TTAADC areas, along with BRPs and CRPs from all eight districts, underwent hands-on training in two phases. The training was conducted by officials from the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, which will oversee the operation and management of the platform.

Focus on Foundational Education

The Education Department has indicated that the Online School Monitoring System is part of a broader strategy to strengthen foundational education in Tripura. More innovative and technology-driven initiatives are expected to be introduced in the coming months to improve learning standards and educational outcomes across the state.

The launch marks a major milestone in Tripura’s efforts to modernize educational governance and ensure every child receives quality foundational learning opportunities.
