PM Modi on Saturday inaugurated a massive ₹14,260 crore development package in Chhattisgarh, marking the state’s 25th anniversary celebrations (Rajat Mahotsav) at Nava Raipur. The projects span crucial sectors — roads, power, energy, healthcare, and rural livelihoods — symbolizing a bold step toward “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).

Empowering Rural India: Startups, Housing, and Livelihoods
Opening the Rajat Mahotsav celebrations, PM Modi launched 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) blocks across nine districts, aimed at nurturing rural micro-entrepreneurs and fostering grassroots innovation.
He also joined the ‘Griha Pravesh’ of 3.51 lakh homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) and released ₹1,200 crore to three lakh beneficiaries, helping ensure secure, pucca homes for the rural poor.
Boosting Connectivity: New Highways to Link Industry and Growth
A major highlight was the foundation stone for a ₹3,150 crore four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon–Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand border under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The 11-district corridor will link coal mines, steel plants, and industrial hubs in Korba, Raigarh, Jashpur, Ranchi, and Jamshedpur, creating a vital economic route between Central and Eastern India.
PM Modi also inaugurated upgrades to NH-130D across Bastar and Narayanpur, and a two-lane expansion of NH-130C to the Odisha border, promising faster access to markets, schools, and hospitals in remote tribal regions.
Powering the Future: Energy and Gas Infrastructure Boost
In the power sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated the ER–WR Interconnection Project, which adds 1,600 MW of inter-regional transfer capacity for grid stability.
He dedicated energy projects worth ₹3,750 crore, including RDSS works worth ₹1,860 crore to enhance rural supply and nine new substations worth ₹480 crore across Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bemetara, Gariyaband, and Bastar, benefiting over 15 lakh people.
Further, the Nagpur–Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline (489 km, ₹1,950 crore) was inaugurated, connecting 11 districts to the National Gas Grid, advancing the government’s “One Nation, One Gas Grid” initiative.
PM Modi also inaugurated HPCL’s ₹460 crore Raipur Petroleum Depot, with capacity for 54,000 KL, including 10,000 KL for ethanol, boosting cleaner fuel infrastructure.

Industrial Growth and Medical Expansion
The Prime Minister laid the foundation for two Smart Industrial Areas at Siladehi-Gatwa-Birra (Janjgir-Champa) and Bijletala (Rajnandgaon), alongside a Pharmaceutical Park in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, supporting the “Make in India” drive.
Additionally, five new Government Medical Colleges were announced in Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Geedam (Dantewada), and an Ayurveda College in Bilaspur, expanding medical education and healthcare access across the state.

Concluding his address, PM Modi said the development blitz showcases Chhattisgarh’s transformation from “aspiration to achievement,” aligning with India’s broader vision of inclusive, sustainable growth.
