Ganga Expressway Inauguration in Hardoi
Following his temple visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Hardoi to inaugurate the ambitious Ganga Expressway, a landmark infrastructure project built at a cost of approximately ₹36,230 crore.
The Ganga Expressway is a 594-kilometre-long, six-lane (expandable to eight lanes) access-controlled greenfield corridor designed to significantly enhance high-speed connectivity across the state. The expressway will link key regions of Uttar Pradesh, connecting western, central, and eastern parts seamlessly.

Transforming Connectivity and Economy
The expressway passes through 12 districts, including Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. Once operational, it is expected to reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from 10–12 hours to nearly six hours.
A major highlight of the project is a 3.5-kilometre-long emergency landing airstrip in Shahjahanpur, which enhances strategic and defence preparedness.
Officials said the expressway will serve as a major economic corridor, with plans for integrated manufacturing and logistics hubs across approximately 2,635 hectares along its route. This is expected to reduce logistics costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and boost industrial growth.
Boost to Farmers, Tourism, and Jobs
Improved connectivity is also expected to benefit farmers by providing easier access to urban and export markets, enabling better price realisation. Additionally, the project is likely to boost tourism and generate significant employment opportunities.
The Ganga Expressway will also integrate with other major expressways, forming a robust high-speed road network across the state. Officials described the project as a transformative initiative that will drive economic growth, enhance infrastructure, and support balanced regional development across Uttar Pradesh.
