Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has officially entered the ₹100 crore club worldwide, marking a major milestone for a mid-budget love story. Directed by Milap Zaveri জো, the film has shown remarkable consistency at the box office, even in its second week, driven by strong word-of-mouth and audience appreciation.

A Strong Box Office Hold Despite Competition
According to trade analysts, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has collected ₹66 crore nett (₹80 crore gross) in India during its 14-day theatrical run. However, producers have pegged the domestic total slightly higher at ₹86 crore gross.
The production house revealed that the film earned ₹86.1 crore from Indian theatres and an additional ₹15 crore from overseas markets by the end of its second weekend. This brings the film’s global total to ₹101 crore, cementing its position among the biggest romantic hits of the year.
Despite facing stiff competition from Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma during the Diwali weekend, the Harshvardhan-Sonam starrer has managed to carve its own niche at the box office. While Thamma released on nearly three times more screens, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat held strong, particularly in single-screen and mass-market territories.

Dominating Single Screens and Tier-2 Markets
Interestingly, the film’s performance in regions like Bihar has been exceptional. Trade reports suggest that it has already crossed the ₹3 crore nett mark in the state within 13 days — outperforming several bigger titles, including Tu Jhoothi Main Makaar and Saiyaara.
In these territories, the emotional depth of the story and the chemistry between Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa have struck a chord with audiences.
A Win for Mid-Budget Romantic Cinema
With high-profile releases like Baahubali: The Epic and The Taj Story now in theatres, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continues to show steady footfall. On Monday, the film matched Thamma in collections, proving its sustained pull among moviegoers.
For director Milap Zaveri, known for his commercial entertainers, this success marks a strong comeback into romantic storytelling. The film’s blend of intense romance, emotional drama, and mass appeal has clearly connected with its audience.
Looking Ahead
As the film enters its third week, trade experts predict that Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat could maintain its strong run and potentially touch ₹120 crore worldwide before wrapping up its theatrical journey.
With this milestone, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa join the list of breakout stars of 2025 — reaffirming that heartfelt romantic stories still have a loyal audience in Indian cinema.
