CM Lays Foundation for Shija Hospital:
In a major push towards strengthening Tripura’s healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha laid the foundation stone for Shija Hospital, Agartala, at RK Nagar on Thursday. The new establishment by Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Manipur, will include a Super Specialty Hospital, Medical College, and Nursing Institute, marking a milestone in the state’s journey toward becoming a regional “Health Hub.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said the initiative reflects the government’s success in creating an enabling environment for investors, making Tripura a favorable destination for ease of doing business and sustainable growth.
“Our government has created a conducive atmosphere where investors find Tripura a place of opportunity and prosperity. Shija Hospital’s decision to invest here reflects growing confidence in our state’s potential,” the Chief Minister remarked.
The new project by Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI), one of the leading healthcare institutions in Northeast India, will bring state-of-the-art facilities, advanced medical technology, and specialized healthcare services closer to the people of Tripura.
Driving ‘Viksit Tripura’ Through Healthcare & Employment
The Chief Minister emphasized that the project aligns with the government’s broader vision of a ‘Viksit Tripura’ — a developed, self-reliant, and healthy state.
The new hospital complex is expected to create significant employment opportunities for local youth in both medical and non-medical sectors. Alongside healthcare access, it will open avenues for medical education and skill development through its proposed medical college and nursing institute.
