Amit Shah Opens ‘Arth Summit 2025–26’ in Gandhinagar
Earlier in the day, Shah, along with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, inaugurated the two-day Arth Summit 2025–26 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The summit, jointly organised by NABARD and the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), aims to transform India’s rural economy.
Addressing the gathering, Shah emphasized the importance of strengthening agriculture, animal husbandry and cooperative sectors — calling them the three pillars of rural development. He highlighted that India’s rural development budget had grown significantly:
“The combined budget of the Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture and Cooperation has risen from ₹1.02 lakh crore in 2014 to over ₹3.15 lakh crore in 2025–26.” — Amit Shah
He asserted that the aim of Arth Summit is to make India’s rural economy the strongest pillar of the national economy, reaffirming Mahatma Gandhi’s principle that India’s progress is incomplete without rural development.
Expo Expected to Draw Innovators, Entrepreneurs & Citizens
The event is expected to welcome entrepreneurs, scholars, farmers, students and innovators from across the country, offering networking, knowledge exchange and opportunities to promote swadeshi products.
