Abhay Singh Named Men’s Player of the Year

Abhay Singh was awarded the Men’s Player of the Year title following a remarkable season. Currently ranked World No. 25, Abhay has consistently delivered strong performances in major tournaments, including the Asian Games and Asian Squash Championships.

He was also part of the Indian squad that made history by securing the country’s first-ever World Cup mixed team title. His consistency, tactical play, and ability to perform under pressure have made him one of India’s leading squash players.

Anahat Singh Bags Junior Girls’ Top Honour

Teenage sensation Anahat Singh clinched the top honour in the girls’ junior category, further cementing her reputation as one of the brightest young talents in global squash.

Ranked World No. 20, Anahat has already achieved significant success at a young age. In 2025, she secured a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in Cairo and played a key role in India’s gold-winning campaign at the mixed team World Cup.

Her speed, agility, and attacking gameplay have made her a standout performer in international competitions.

Indian Team Also Recognised

Adding to the celebrations, the Indian men’s team was named Team of the Year by the ASF. The recognition came after the team secured a bronze medal at the World Junior Team Championships 2025 held in Egypt.

This collective achievement highlights the growing depth and strength of squash in India, with both senior and junior players excelling on the global stage.

Return to the Top After 2022

The latest awards mark India’s return to the ASF honours list after 2022, when Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa were recognised as the top male and female players, respectively.

The emergence of new stars like Abhay and Anahat signals a promising future for Indian squash.
