Global Unity for a Solar-Powered World

The ISA Assembly 2025 serves as a major platform for global leaders to review progress, discuss challenges, and accelerate collective action toward affordable solar energy for all.
This year’s session focuses on expanding solar deployment across key sectors—agriculture, healthcare, transport, and power generation—while promoting green finance and technology sharing among nations.

The International Solar Alliance, headquartered in Gurugram, India, is an intergovernmental organization working to promote the widespread adoption of solar energy worldwide. It aims to help countries transition toward carbon neutrality while ensuring equitable access to clean and reliable energy.

India Leads the Global Clean Energy Mission

The event reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who co-founded the ISA in 2015 alongside then French President François Hollande during COP21 in Paris.
India has emerged as a global leader in solar energy, achieving 50% of its total installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources—five years ahead of its target.

Currently, India stands as the world’s third-largest solar producer and the second-largest renewable energy market. Under the government’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, more than 20 lakh households are already reaping the benefits of free rooftop solar power.

Towards a Greener Tomorrow

This assembly emphasizes cooperation among nations to make solar energy accessible and affordable for all. The discussions will also touch upon innovative financing, capacity building, and technology transfer—ensuring that solar solutions reach even the most remote regions.

ISA’s continued expansion and India’s leadership reaffirm the nation’s role as a champion of sustainable growth and climate action. As the world gathers in New Delhi, the assembly marks another milestone in humanity’s journey toward a clean, bright, and energy-secure future.
