Mission to Support and Supervise the Ceasefire

A senior United States official stated that the task force will “oversee, observe, and make sure there are no violations” of the ceasefire agreement. The team will include personnel from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, who will work alongside US forces to monitor the situation.

Officials clarified that no US troops will enter Gaza, emphasizing that the mission will be based entirely in Israel. “They will not be in Gaza. No US boots on the ground in Gaza,” one official reiterated.

The deployment will focus on logistics, transportation, engineering, and planning support, ensuring smooth coordination between international partners and local authorities.

Humanitarian and Security Coordination

In addition to monitoring the truce, US troops will facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza. They will help manage a “deconfliction mechanism” — a communication system designed to prevent accidental clashes and maintain stability during the ceasefire period.

According to reports, the deployment will begin immediately, coinciding with the ceasefire’s official activation within the next 24 hours.

Ceasefire and Prisoner Exchange Agreement

The ceasefire announcement was made by former United States President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform, calling it the first step toward “Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”
As part of the deal, both sides agreed to a hostage-prisoner exchange that would release around 20 Israeli hostages believed to still be alive, as well as the remains of others who died during captivity.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the Israeli Cabinet had approved the agreement, calling it a crucial step toward restoring peace after a prolonged and deadly conflict that drew global condemnation.

Global Reaction and Implications

The announcement has been welcomed by world leaders and humanitarian agencies. Analysts see the Unitef States-led oversight mission as a symbolic and strategic effort to ensure the ceasefire holds while rebuilding trust between the parties.

Observers note that the inclusion of Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish representatives adds regional legitimacy and diplomatic balance to the monitoring effort, signaling a coordinated international approach to peace in Gaza.
