Agartala, Sep 27 — In a major pre-festival boost, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has approved projects worth Rs 50.65 Cr Project ahead of Durga Puja 2025. The funds will be used for urban development, road upgrades, sanitation, welfare schemes, and civic infrastructure across the state.

₹12 Crore out of Rs 50.65 Cr Project for Urban Development in Municipal Bodies
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, ₹12 crore has been sanctioned for 14 municipal corporations and six nagar panchayats.
Key works include:
- Sanitation and solid waste management
- Drinking water supply and drainage systems
- Road construction and maintenance
- Conservation and development of water bodies
- Street lighting in nagar panchayats
- Construction of electric crematoriums
- Improved online citizen services
₹9.37 Crore Allocated for District-Level Projects
An additional ₹9.37 crore has been released to various district magistrates for maintenance of fixed assets and improving public convenience.
Six RD divisions — Teliamura, Amarpur, Kumarghat, Kanchanpur, Satchand, and Shantirbazar — have also been sanctioned funds to expedite pre-approved construction works.
₹17.38 Crore for Road Development in Agartala
For the state capital, Agartala, a major share of ₹17.38 crore has been earmarked for road development projects. The upgrades will cover:
- Durga Chowmuhani to Lake Chowmuhani
- Lake Chowmuhani to Radhanagar
- Buddha Mandir to Radhamadhav Unnayan Sangha
- Pragati School to Buddha Mandir to Cantonment

Festival Grants for Over 11,000 Workers
Apart from infrastructure, the Chief Minister also announced welfare measures under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Scheme (Mid-Day Meal):
- 11,150 cook-cum-helpers will receive ₹2,310 each as a festival grant, totaling ₹2.58 crore.
- 26 contractual workers under the Primary Education Department will receive ₹3.60 lakh in bonus and advance payments.

Dr. Manik Saha emphasized that these initiatives will enhance civic amenities before Durga Puja while also contributing to sustainable infrastructure growth, better sanitation, and long-term welfare systems across Tripura.
