PM Modi Flags Off Major PM-KISAN Instalment
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three instalments as direct income support.
The latest instalment, released today, will benefit farmers nationwide, including:
21,80,204 beneficiaries in Tamil Nadu
44,837 farmers in Coimbatore district alone
The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening rural livelihoods and ensuring steady financial assistance for small and marginal farmers.
South India Organic Farming Conference Kicks Off
The event, organised by the Tamil Nadu Organic Farmers’ Federation, brought together thousands of farmers from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and other southern states.
In his keynote address, PM Modi stressed the importance of sustainable and chemical-free agriculture, noting that organic farming plays a pivotal role in improving soil health, reducing input costs, and promoting long-term food security.
Awards for Organic Farming Excellence
The Prime Minister honoured farmers who have excelled in organic practices, presenting awards that recognise innovation and leadership in the sector.

High Security Deployment Across Coimbatore
Coimbatore witnessed five-layer security, with the Special Protection Group (SPG) taking control of the entire CODISSIA campus.
Key measures included:
Round-the-clock police deployment
Drone bans around the venue
Tight monitoring on the Coimbatore–Avinashi Road corridor
Thousands of visitors and delegates attended the conference, making it one of the region’s largest gatherings on organic farming.
PM Modi is expected to wind up his visit by 3.30 p.m. and return to New Delhi afterward.
