In September 2025, Ola Electric’s sales stood at 13,421 units, showing a marginal month-on-month improvement but a steep annual decline, reflecting growing challenges in India’s competitive electric two-wheeler market.

Goa Suspension and Service Complaints

Industry sources attribute part of the decline to temporary suspension of sales in Goa, following multiple consumer complaints about after-sales service delays and issues with registration certificates.

Customer dissatisfaction has reportedly led to local dealers halting new deliveries until the company resolves pending grievances, adding to its operational challenges in key markets.

Adding to the company’s woes, Ola Electric continues to face legal scrutiny related to the alleged suicide of K. Aravind, a 38-year-old homologation engineer who worked at the company’s Bengaluru facility.

Aravind was found dead in his apartment on September 28, leaving behind a 28-page handwritten note accusing senior Ola Electric officials of workplace harassment, salary withholding, and mental distress.

During a hearing in October, advocate Prasanna Kumar, representing the complainant, described Ola Electric as “worse than the East India Company,” alleging systemic mistreatment of employees. The petition also questioned a ₹17.46 lakh transfer made to Aravind’s bank account two days after his death, calling it “suspicious.”

Ola Electric has categorically denied the allegations, stating that the engineer had never filed any formal complaint regarding harassment during his tenure.

The Karnataka High Court has directed the police to continue their investigation fairly while ensuring that the petitioners are not harassed during proceedings. The next hearing is scheduled for November 17, 2025.
