Mumbai | August 3, 2025 – In a major boost to creative skill development in the North East, the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has launched an 8-month fully-funded residential training program in 3D Animation and Visual Effects (VFX). The initiative targets aspiring youth from all eight Northeastern states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.

The program, being conducted in partnership with Aptech Ltd, will be held at a modern training facility in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and aims to bridge regional disparities by equipping 100 selected candidates with high-demand digital skills. Applicants must be 18+ and hold a 10+2 qualification, or be 10th-pass with 3 years of relevant experience.

The program includes 6 months of classroom learning followed by 2 months of industry exposure with real-world studio projects. Selected participants will receive:
- Free boarding and lodging
- Three daily meals
- A high-performance laptop
- Mentorship and certification by NFDC & NCVET
The initiative is part of NFDC’s commitment to empower the youth of the North East and build a robust talent pool for India’s growing Media & Entertainment (M&E) sector.
NFDC has consistently delivered industry-aligned training in areas such as animation, VFX, filmmaking, digital content, and gaming. This is the third such residential batch aimed at NE youth, reinforcing the government’s focus on inclusive growth and digital empowerment.
