Kuwait City, August 13, 2025|SKY LINK TIMES
In a landmark move to enhance regional travel and strengthen economic ties, Kuwait has introduced a visa-on-arrival (VoA) facility for all residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

Effective immediately, foreign nationals holding valid GCC residency permits with at least six months’ validity can obtain a one-month tourist visa upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport or other entry points.
This new policy replaces the earlier system, which restricted visa-on-arrival eligibility to specific professions. Now, all expatriates meeting the residency requirement can travel to Kuwait without prior visa applications or embassy visits.
The announcement follows Kuwait’s launch of an e-visa platform in July 2025 and aligns with the region’s plan for a unified GCC tourist visa.

Big Win for Indian Expats
With over nine million Indians living across the GCC — the largest expatriate community in the region — the change is expected to greatly benefit Indian professionals, workers, and families. For Indians in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, the VoA means easier, faster, and cheaper travel to Kuwait for leisure, business, or family visits.
Industry analysts believe the move could boost cross-border business and create new opportunities for Indian professionals in IT, healthcare, engineering, and construction sectors.
The policy comes just months before the trial launch of the GCC Unified Travel Visa later in 2025, which is expected to simplify travel across all six GCC states and promote tourism growth.
