Part of a Larger Crackdown on Drug Trafficking

Assam has emerged as a critical corridor for narcotics moving from neighbouring regions, particularly along the India–Myanmar border and inter-state transit routes.
Over the past few months, police have intensified surveillance, intelligence-based raids, and highway interceptions.

Officials say the latest operations represent a major setback for the drug trafficking syndicates operating across the Northeast.
Investigators are now working to identify the source of the seized narcotics and trace the wider network involved.

Investigation Underway

While the Assam Police have not yet shared specific locations of the raids, sources indicate that the operations were conducted based on precise intelligence inputs.
The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely as authorities map the supply chain and financial links of the trafficking groups.

This multi-crore drug haul adds to a growing list of successful operations carried out in 2025, reflecting the state’s strengthened resolve to combat the narcotics menace.
