Viksit Bharat 2047 is India’s roadmap to become a fully developed, inclusive, and sustainable nation by the year 2047—its 100th year of independence. The initiative spans multiple sectors, including health, education, renewable energy, urban development, and digital transformation.
🌐 ADB’s Role in Supporting India’s Growth
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has reaffirmed its commitment to support India in achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 goals. This includes:
- Financing large-scale infrastructure projects
- Supporting green energy transitions
- Promoting digital connectivity
- Assisting with policy reforms and capacity building
The ADB has expressed its commitment to supporting India’s transformative development goals through financing, technical assistance, and capacity-building initiatives. With a focus on infrastructure, green energy, digital transformation, and inclusive growth, ADB’s support aligns closely with the roadmap set by the Indian government.
Mr Kanda in his X posted that “The Viksit Bharat 2047 vision is bold, and @ADB_HQ is supporting that ambition. We will direct $10 billion, including third-party capital, over the next five years into municipal infrastructure development, extending metro networks, building new Regional Rapid Transit System corridors, and modernizing city services. I was pleased to convey this during my meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.”
The Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative outlines India’s aspirations across key sectors such as health, education, urban development, agriculture, and innovation. With international institutions like ADB on board, India is expected to accelerate its progress toward becoming a global economic powerhouse by its 100th year of independence.
