Ayodhya Ram Temple Abolishes VIP Pass System:
Religious leaders and temple representatives have welcomed the decision to abolish the special VIP pass system for visiting the Ram Darbar at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. They described the move as a significant step towards ensuring equal treatment for all devotees and making the darshan process simpler and more accessible.
The decision, announced by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, allows devotees to visit the Ram Darbar without obtaining a separate special pass. After completing the regular darshan of Ram Lalla through the general queue, devotees can now directly proceed to the Ram Darbar located on the first floor of the temple.

Religious Leaders Welcome the Decision
Reacting to the development, Ramadal Trust President Kalki Ram praised the move and urged the temple administration to completely eliminate all forms of VIP culture within the temple premises.
He said every devotee should be treated equally so that those waiting patiently in the general queue never feel discriminated against. He noted that special arrangements for persons with disabilities and the daily darshan facilities for Ayodhya residents were appropriate, but stressed that preferential treatment for VIPs should come to an end.
“At least one temple in India, the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, should exist without any VIP culture. While VIP passes are gradually being discontinued in many temples, the culture itself must end. It does not promote equality. Devotees come with the same devotion, but preferential treatment changes their feelings when they leave. That should not happen,” he said.

Priests Call for Equality Among Devotees
Temple priest Divakar Acharya also welcomed the decision and questioned the very concept of VIP treatment in places of worship.
He said that those who sacrificed their lives during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement were never distinguished on the basis of Aadhaar cards, caste, religion or financial status.
“Yet many people were taken directly before Lord Shri Ramlalla through the VIP system, while ordinary devotees with deep faith had to stand in long queues for darshan. This is a highly commendable decision and deserves appreciation, congratulations and best wishes,” he said.
Darshan Process Simplified
Under the revised arrangement, devotees no longer need to obtain separate passes for Ram Darbar darshan. Once they complete the regular darshan of Ram Lalla, they can directly visit the Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor.
Earlier, only a limited number of special passes were issued each day, restricting access to the Ram Darbar.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said the decision was taken to simplify the darshan process, reduce inconvenience and make the temple experience more accessible for all devotees.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of pilgrims visiting Ayodhya every day and has been widely welcomed as an important step towards promoting equality and fairness in one of India’s most significant places of worship.
