India to Supply BrahMos and Astra Missiles
One of the most significant outcomes of the visit is the agreement for India to supply BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to the Indonesian military, marking another major export success for India’s indigenous defence industry.
Indonesia is also expected to procure India’s Astra beyond-visual-range (BVR) air-to-air missiles, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The Astra missile is capable of engaging highly manoeuvrable enemy aircraft at long distances, strengthening Indonesia’s aerial defence capabilities.
In addition, India is likely to receive additional batteries of the BrahMos missile system, further enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries and boosting Indonesia’s coastal security.
Maritime Security and Defence Cooperation Strengthened
Alongside defence exports, both nations finalised a comprehensive framework for maritime safety and security cooperation, aimed at improving coordination in the strategically important Indo-Pacific region.
Speaking after the agreements were signed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the growing trust between the two countries is expanding cooperation across several sectors.
“The growing trust between our countries is strengthening our defence, security, and maritime cooperation. Today, we have reached an agreement to enhance defence exchanges, disaster management, and industrial cooperation,” PM Modi said.
The agreements also include collaboration in disaster management and defence industrial development, reflecting the expanding strategic partnership between New Delhi and Jakarta.

Another important agreement focuses on cooperation in critical minerals and steel supply chains, aimed at strengthening resource security and industrial collaboration between the two nations.
India is also expected to assist Indonesia in developing Indonesia-specific Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), sharing its expertise in election technology and democratic processes.
Indonesia Confers Highest Honour on PM Modi
During the visit, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto conferred the “Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia”, the country’s highest civilian and military honour, upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Instituted in 1959, the prestigious award recognises extraordinary service and outstanding contributions. It adds another international honour to the growing list of global recognitions received by the Indian Prime Minister.
The agreements signed during the visit underline the rapidly expanding India-Indonesia strategic partnership and reinforce cooperation in defence, maritime security, technology, healthcare and economic development across the Indo-Pacific region.
