Hombale Films has officially unveiled the first poster of Mahavatar Parshuram the second instalment in its ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe (MCU). The announcement was made on the occasion of , generating excitement among fans of mythological storytelling and animation.

A Fierce First Look at Mahavatar Parshuram
The newly released poster presents a powerful image of a warrior standing amid a battlefield, wielding a blood-stained axe—symbolising strength and justice. The makers captioned the reveal with a striking message: “When Dharma falls, the Parshu rises.” The visual hints at a story centred around the restoration of balance and the fight against injustice.
The film is slated for a theatrical release in December 2027, continuing the studio’s vision of building a large-scale animated franchise rooted in Indian mythology.
Expanding the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe
The Mahavatar Cinematic Universe began with Mahavatar Narasimha, which turned out to be a massive commercial success. The film reportedly earned over ₹300 crore at the box office, becoming India’s highest-grossing animated film.
Directed by Ashwin Kumar , who also helmed the first film, Mahavatar Parshuram continues the saga based on the avatars of Lord Vishnu. Music composer returns for the sequel, while the film is produced by Shilpaa Dhawan and Vijay Kiragandur under Kleem Productions and Hombale Films.

The Mahavatar Cinematic Universe is planned as a seven-part animated franchise, drawing inspiration from the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. Following Mahavatar Parshuram, the lineup includes:

Legacy of Mahavatar Narasimha
The first film, Mahavatar Narasimha, premiered at the in November 2024 before releasing in theatres in July 2025. It narrated the story of Prahlad and the manifestation of Lord Vishnu as Narasimha to defeat the demon king Hiranyakashyap.
