IndiGo on Sunday said that its recovery efforts are showing “strong and steady improvement” as the airline moves towards restoring full normalcy following days of large-scale disruptions. The airline confirmed that refunds are being processed at full capacity and it is on track to operate over 1,650 flights today, up from around 1,500 flights on Saturday.

The update comes after nearly a week of mass cancellations caused by acute staff shortages and stricter duty-time regulations for pilots and cabin crew.

On-Time Performance Improves Sharply
In a fresh operational update, IndiGo said there has been a significant rise in On-Time Performance (OTP), which improved to 75 per cent on Sunday, compared to nearly 30 per cent a day earlier.
The airline also assured passengers that cancellations are now being declared much earlier in the day, allowing customers to adjust travel plans with advance notice.
“Following the recent operational disruptions, IndiGo confirms that we are establishing further significant and sustained improvements across our network,” the airline said in a statement.
Refunds and Baggage Handling at Full Capacity
IndiGo confirmed that both refunds and baggage-related processes are functioning at full capacity, covering bookings made directly with the airline as well as through travel agents.
Passengers seeking refunds have been advised to use the dedicated refund section on IndiGo’s official website or contact customer support teams for faster assistance.
The airline acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the prolonged disruption and expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience and cooperation.

Network Expected to Stabilise Before December 10
IndiGo has now advanced its expected stabilisation timeline, saying its network is likely to return to normal by December 10, ahead of the earlier estimate of December 10–15.
Its teams are working round-the-clock in coordination with airport authorities, aviation regulators and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations across the network.
Passengers have been advised to check flight status online before leaving for the airport, as minor schedule changes may still occur while operations are being fine-tuned.
Apology Issued, Coordination with Authorities Continues
Apologising once again, the airline said it remains fully focused on improving service reliability.
“We are grateful for the patience, trust and understanding shown by our customers and the tireless efforts of our employees and partners. We continue to work closely with all authorities and stakeholders to ensure a swift return to full normalcy,” an IndiGo spokesperson said.
The update brings some relief to thousands of travellers who were affected by widespread cancellations across India over the past several days.
