In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “On the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Uttarakhand Foundation Day, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to all my brothers and sisters of the state. Nestled in the lap of nature, this divine land is today gaining a new pace of progress in every field along with tourism.”

He also prayed for the “happiness, prosperity, and excellent health of the humble and hardworking people of Uttarakhand.”

A Silver Jubilee of Struggle and Development

Uttarakhand, popularly known as Devbhoomi (the land of Gods), was carved out of Uttar Pradesh on November 9, 2000, becoming India’s 27th state. This year marks its silver jubilee, a moment of pride celebrating its journey from people’s movement to a model of balanced development.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called the occasion a “silver jubilee of struggle, values, and dedication.” Paying tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister under whose leadership the state was formed, Dhami said, “His farsighted and sensitive leadership gave Devbhoomi a new identity.

Balanced Growth and Record Investment

Highlighting the success of the “double-engine government”, CM Dhami said Uttarakhand has achieved remarkable growth in connectivity, infrastructure, industry, tourism, education, health, and women’s empowerment.

He emphasized that the state’s model of growth prioritizes environmental conservation alongside progress, helping Uttarakhand secure a top position in India’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index.

Dhami also announced that the state has attracted industrial investments worth ₹3.5 lakh crore, with ₹1 lakh crore already realized. Tourism projects such as the Char Dham Yatra, Kanwar Yatra, and temple redevelopment initiatives have further boosted the economy and created new job opportunities.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took to X to congratulate the people of Uttarakhand, calling it “the sacred land of mythological traditions.”

He wrote, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister @narendramodi ji and leadership of Chief Minister @pushkardhami ji, this state is becoming empowered, secure, and prosperous.”

Yogi Adityanath also offered prayers to Baba Kedarnath, wishing continued growth for what he described as the “Crown Jewel of India.”

A Journey of Faith, Nature, and Progress

As Uttarakhand celebrates 25 years of its formation, the milestone stands as a testament to its transformation—from a movement for identity to a model of development rooted in faith, nature, and sustainability.

With strong leadership and a vision for inclusive growth, the Devbhoomi continues to emerge as one of India’s most promising and spiritually significant states.
