Team India’s pace sensation Mohammed Siraj delivered a performance of a lifetime in the fifth Test of the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, becoming the first bowler in 41 years to take a five-wicket haul in the fourth innings of a Test match at Kennington Oval, London.
Siraj’s incredible spell of 5/104 helped India edge past England by just six runs, leveling the series 2-2 in a dramatic finish that will be remembered for generations.
The 31-year-old Mohammed Siraj right-arm pacer earlier claimed 4/86 in the first innings, ending the match with jaw-dropping figures of 9/190 – the best by any bowler from either team in this series decider.
A Feat Not Achieved Since 1984
With his performance, Siraj became the first visiting bowler since Michael Holding (1984) to take a five-wicket haul in the fourth innings at the Oval. He is only the eighth bowler in history to do so on this ground in a fourth innings, and the first ever Indian to achieve the feat.

Remarkably, no bowler from either team had taken a five-wicket haul in the fourth innings at The Oval since 1997, when England’s Andy Caddick did it against Australia. Siraj has now ended that 28-year drought.
