Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 32-Ball Carnage:

India A kicked off their Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 campaign in spectacular fashion as 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a breathtaking 144 off just 42 balls, setting up a massive 148-run victory over UAE on Friday. His blistering innings powered India A to 297/4, one of the highest totals in men’s T20 cricket.

Suryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Blitz: A 32-Ball Masterclass

The teenage left-hander once again demonstrated why he is being hailed as one of India’s most exciting new talents. His 32-ball century is now the joint-second fastest by an Indian in men’s T20s, tied with Rishabh Pant (2018) and behind only Urvil Patel and Abhishek Sharma’s 28-ball milestones.

Suryavanshi’s knock featured:

11 fours

15 sixes

A phenomenal strike rate of 342.85, the fourth-highest ever for a T20 hundred

At just 14 years and 232 days, he also became the youngest male cricketer to score a century for a national representative side, overtaking Mushfiqur Rahim’s previous record set in 2005.

This was Suryavanshi’s second T20 hundred, following his 35-ball century for Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 IPL—a performance that already made him the youngest T20 centurion in history.

Dropped on Zero, Dominant Thereafter

Remarkably, Suryavanshi was dropped on the first ball he faced, and that mistake proved costly for UAE. He raced to a 17-ball fifty, then shifted into an even higher gear, dismantling the bowling attack with fearless precision.

His explosive second-wicket partnership of 163 runs in 57 balls with Naman Dhir (34) transformed a steady start into a mammoth total.

Jitesh Sharma Intensifies the Onslaught

After Suryavanshi’s dismissal in the 13th over, captain Jitesh Sharma ensured the run flow continued, hammering 83 off 32 balls*. India A looked on track to cross the rare 300-run mark, but a quiet final over left them at 297/4, equaling India’s 2024 total against Bangladesh.

Only Baroda’s 349 in the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy stands above this score within Indian cricket.

UAE Falter Under Mounting Pressure

Chasing 298, UAE never found momentum. Only Sohaib Khan stood firm with a fighting 63 off 41 balls. India A’s bowlers maintained tight control, led by Gurpanjeet Singh (3/18) and Harsh Dubey, who chipped in with economical spells.

UAE eventually managed only 149/7, falling well short as India A completed a commanding win.

Brief Scores

India A 297/4 (Vaibhav Suryavanshi 144, Jitesh Sharma 83)*
UAE 149/7 (Shoaib Khan 63; Gurpanjeet Singh 2-18, Harsh Dubey 2-xx)
Result: India A won by 148 runs.
