Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday announced that the state will soon recruit tourist guides and seek additional central funding to enhance tourism infrastructure and create new attractions across the state.

The Minister made the announcement of recuits tourist guides while inaugurating the construction and development of tourism infrastructure at Chotta Khola Park in South Tripura district. The park, which symbolises the cultural and historical ties between India and Bangladesh, has undergone a Rs 4 crore renovation to improve visitor experience.
Chotta Khola Park Revamp
Originally inaugurated under the previous government, Chotta Khola Park lacked basic facilities. Under the revamp, the tourism department has added:
- Paved roads
- A cafeteria
- Children’s playground
- Parking facilities
- Modern toilets
“These upgrades will ensure that tourists have a comfortable experience when they visit,” Chowdhury said.

Tourism Circuit in the South District
The Minister revealed plans to develop a tourism circuit in collaboration with the Forest Department and District Administration. The circuit will include:
- Ludhua Tea Estate (Rs 30 crore project)
- Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary
- Chotta Khola Park
- Dham Dhipa
- Pilak heritage site
“This integrated circuit will give tourists a reason to spend more time in the region, benefiting local businesses and communities,” he added.
Central Government Support
Chowdhury stressed that the state is working closely with the Government of India to create new tourist destinations and upgrade existing sites. “We aim to bring in more central funds to turn Tripura into a major tourist destination in the Northeast,” he said.
