The Government of Tripura’s Information & Cultural Affairs Department organised Sharad Samman 2025 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala, on Saturday, honouring the best Durga Puja clubs across all districts. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of several dignitaries.
Durga Puja: A Festival of Unity and Culture
Addressing the gathering, CM Manik Saha praised the peaceful and vibrant celebration of Durga Puja across Tripura, noting the enthusiastic participation from both urban and indigenous communities.
He highlighted that “Durga Puja in Tripura has evolved beyond being a festival of one community — it now unites all communities in celebration and creativity.”
The Chief Minister also emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Vocal for Local” vision, which has inspired clubs and social organizations to promote local craftsmanship. He encouraged organizing workshops in idol-making, pandal decoration, and lighting to empower local artists.
This year, an estimated 1.5 lakh people attended the ‘Mayer Gaman 2025’ ceremony in person, while another 1.6 lakh viewers joined via media broadcasts, reflecting the event’s massive reach.
