Sharing a gripping audio-visual (AV) glimpse, Vijay introduced his character with a bold statement that reclaims history from a colonial lens. The film is set to release worldwide on September 11, 2026.

‘Our Savage’: Vijay Deverakonda’s Powerful First Look

Taking to social media, Vijay Deverakonda wrote:

“The British called him a ‘Savage’. I do not disagree. He was OUR savage. Introducing the one and only RANABAALI.”

The actor also shared a striking poster showcasing his intense new look, describing the character as emerging from the village folklore of the motherland. The visuals portray raw aggression, resistance, and pride, establishing RanaBaali as a symbol of rebellion against British oppression.

RanaBaali: Story Rooted in Real Historical Events

Set in 19th-century India, RanaBaali is inspired by real events that occurred between 1854 and 1878, a period marked by colonial exploitation, devastating famines, and brutal policies enforced by British officials.

The first-look glimpse introduces audiences to a “cursed land” ravaged by colonial rule. Through intense visuals and compelling narration by Rahul Sankrityan, the film highlights the suffering caused by British administrators such as Sir Richard Temple and Sir Theodore Hector, whose policies turned fertile regions into drought-stricken zones.

The narrative draws chilling parallels to genocides worse than Hitler’s Holocaust, exposing the massive economic and human cost inflicted on India during colonial rule.
