The event was also attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, where Shah described the operation as the biggest anti-Naxal action ever conducted in the region.

“The bravery and valour of the jawans during ‘Operation Black Forest’ will be remembered as a golden chapter in the history of anti-Naxal operations,” Shah declared, while applauding the forces for their determination and sacrifice.

Operation Black Forest: A Major Blow to Naxals

During the operation at Karreguttalu hill, security forces eliminated 27 Maoists, arrested 54 Naxalites, and secured the surrender of 84 others across Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Maharashtra.

Despite extreme conditions—scorching heat, high altitudes, and constant threats of improvised explosive devices (IEDs)—the joint forces successfully destroyed a major Naxal base camp, cutting off supply chains and dismantling material dumps critical to their operations.

Modi Government’s Mission: Naxal-Free India

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Shah said,

“We will not rest until all Naxalites either surrender, are caught, or eliminated. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will make India Naxal-free by March 31, 2026.”

He highlighted that decades of Naxal violence had crippled development, shutting down schools and hospitals, while blocking government welfare schemes from reaching the most vulnerable communities.

According to Shah, sustained anti-Naxal efforts are now transforming the lives of 6.5 crore people across regions stretching from Pashupatinath to Tirupati, ushering in a “new sunrise of hope and development.”

Commitment to Jawans’ Welfare

The Home Minister also assured that the welfare of security personnel remains a top priority for the government. Special attention, he said, will be given to those who have suffered serious injuries in the line of duty.

“The sacrifices of our jawans are the foundation of a safer and stronger India. Their welfare will always remain our responsibility,” Shah emphasized.

A Historic Step Against Naxalism

With ‘Operation Black Forest’, security forces have dealt one of the heaviest blows to Maoist insurgency in recent times. The operation not only disrupted the stronghold of Naxals in the dense forests of Chhattisgarh but also sent a strong message that India is moving decisively toward a Naxal-free future.

As the government sets a deadline of March 2026 to eradicate Naxalism, the success of this mission will remain a turning point in India’s internal security strategy.
