India on Saturday welcomed the outcome of the US-Russia Alaska Summit, reiterating that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
In an official statement, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said:
“India welcomes the US-Russia Alaska Summit meeting in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Their leadership in the pursuit of peace is highly commendable. India appreciates the progress made at the Summit. The way forward can only be through dialogue and diplomacy. The world wants to see an early end to the conflict in Ukraine.”

India’s Consistent Stand on Ukraine War
India has consistently maintained that the conflict must be resolved through peaceful negotiations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message at the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022 — “this is not an era of war” — continues to be echoed at international forums and has been included in multiple global joint statements.
