Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will embark on a three-day visit to Israel from November 20–22, marking a fresh push to deepen India–Israel economic cooperation. According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the visit aims to review the progress of the proposed India–Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and explore new avenues for trade, technology, and investment partnerships.

India Sends 60-Member Business Delegation
Goyal will be accompanied by a high-powered 60-member business delegation, facilitated by CII, FICCI, Assocham, and Startup India. The invitation for the visit has come from Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat.
The delegation reflects India’s intention to strengthen commercial ties with Israel, especially in areas where both nations already share deep strategic cooperation.
High-Level Meetings with Israeli Leadership
During his visit, Goyal is expected to hold bilateral meetings with top Israeli ministers and senior officials. These discussions will focus on:
Expanding trade and investment
Collaboration in agriculture, water technology, defence, life sciences
Partnerships in emerging technologies, advanced manufacturing, and infrastructure
Promoting cooperation between Indian and Israeli startups and innovators
The ministry statement said that a detailed review of the proposed India–Israel FTA is one of the key agenda items.
India–Israel Business Forum Set to Drive New Partnerships
Goyal will participate in the India–Israel Business Forum, bringing together senior industry leaders and business associations from both countries. The event will include:
Opening and closing plenary sessions
Sector-focused technical discussions
Structured B2B meetings
Dialogues on joint ventures and investment opportunities
Officials said the forum aims to accelerate commercial partnerships and open new channels of bilateral cooperation in priority sectors.
CEOs Forum to Spotlight Strategic Investments
The fourth edition of the high-level CEOs Forum will be held during the visit, featuring prominent CEOs from India and Israel. This platform is expected to highlight strategic opportunities for investment, technology transfer, and innovation-driven collaboration.
