Rajaa described it as the largest-ever engineering job commitment in the state’s history and a significant milestone in Tamil Nadu’s journey to becoming a global hub for electronics and AI-driven manufacturing.

A Game-Changer for Tamil Nadu’s Industrial Ecosystem

Announcing the development on social media platform X, Minister Rajaa wrote,

> “Largest ever engineering jobs for Tamil Nadu! Foxconn commits ₹15,000 crore in investments and 14,000 high-value jobs! Engineers get ready!”

He added that the investment will bring the company’s next phase of value-added manufacturing, research & development (R&D), and AI-integrated advanced technology operations to the state.

This investment marks another major milestone for Tamil Nadu, which already hosts several Foxconn facilities manufacturing smartphones and components for leading global brands.

Strong Partnership with the Tamil Nadu Government

Foxconn’s India representative Robert Wu met Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Chennai to reaffirm the company’s confidence in Tamil Nadu.
Rajaa emphasized that the state’s investor-friendly policies and strong infrastructure continue to attract global technology leaders.

> “Yet another major boost for Tamil Nadu’s electronics and advanced manufacturing sector,” Rajaa posted, highlighting Foxconn’s renewed trust in the state’s potential.

To ensure smooth coordination, Tamil Nadu’s investment promotion agency Guidance will set up India’s first-ever “Foxconn Desk.”
This dedicated cell will oversee project facilitation, speed up approvals, and ensure mission-mode execution — part of what Rajaa described as “Dravidian Model 2.0.”

The company already operates in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana, with growing investments across India.Just a day before the Tamil Nadu announcement, Robert Wu also met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to discuss expanding Foxconn’s presence and exploring new technology collaborations.This latest investment signals a deepening of Foxconn’s commitment to India, aligning with the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiatives.Industry analysts say the move could help position Tamil Nadu as a key hub for global electronics exports, especially in semiconductors, electric vehicles, and AI-based manufacturing.
