BJP Will Win TTAADC Through Development Not Muscle Power:

Tripura CM Manik Saha on Friday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to win the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and opposition-held Assembly seats through development work rather than politics based on muscle power. Addressing an organisational meeting at Barjala in Agartala, CM Manik Saha said that politics rooted in force and intimidation is not sustainable in the long run.

BJP’s Focus on Development-Centric Politics

Speaking to party workers, CM Manik Saha said the BJP’s objective is not only to regain control of the TTAADC but also to win back the 10 Assembly seats held by the CPI(M) and three seats currently with the Congress. He stressed that the party would follow a development-oriented approach instead of adopting violent political methods.

“Our main aim is to win in TTAADC and also to win the seats where the opposition has won. We will not do politics like the communists. Voters are watching us closely,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that politics driven by muscle power has historically failed and cited past coalition governments as examples of how such approaches do not last long.

Warning Against Unethical Practices

CM Saha made it clear that BJP would not tolerate wrongdoing within its own ranks. He said strict action would be taken against anyone found indulging in unlawful or unethical activities.

“If anyone does wrong deeds, we must take action against them and also stage protests. This is not our path. Development and discipline are our priorities,” he said while urging party workers to remain vigilant and principled.

BJP vs CPIM: A Contrast in Governance

Drawing a sharp contrast between the BJP’s governance model and that of previous CPI(M)-led governments, CM Manik Saha accused the Left of promoting violence and unrest in Tripura during its rule.

“The way CPIM did politics and ruled the state, BJP will not do that,” he said.

The Chief Minister further referred to national leadership, stating that the political environment in the country has transformed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office.

Changes Under BJP Leadership at the Centre

CM Saha said that before 2014, the country witnessed scams, corruption, riots, stone-pelting, and terrorism. However, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda for bringing significant changes.

“After PM Modi came, such incidents have come down. They create traps, and we should not fall into them,” he cautioned party workers.

BJP Workers as ‘Ambassadors of Society’

Emphasising the role of grassroots workers, CM Manik Saha described BJP karyakartas as ambassadors of society. He said their discipline and dedication have helped build trust among people, particularly in rural areas.

“After the BJP came to power, we are doing work across the state, especially in villages. People in villages have faith and trust in the BJP. Our karyakartas are very disciplined,” the Chief Minister said.

With the party sharpening its organisational strategy and stressing development over confrontation, the BJP appears set to intensify its efforts ahead of upcoming political battles in Tripura.
