Agartala is gearing up for the much-awaited ‘Mayer Gomon’ puja carnival 2025, which will be held on October 4. Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a high-level preparatory meeting at the Muktadhara Auditorium on Saturday, where discussions were held regarding arrangements for the event as well as the annual ‘Sharad Samman’ awards.

Dr. Saha called on clubs across Agartala and nearby areas to participate with greater enthusiasm and discipline this year. He also emphasized the importance of eco-conscious celebrations, urging puja organizers to take extra care in reducing noise pollution during idol immersion.
“Last year we noticed some shortcomings. This year, we must learn from those experiences and make the celebration more vibrant, disciplined, and people-friendly. We hope more clubs will join hands to make Mayer Gomon 2025 grand and well-coordinated,” the Chief Minister said.
Focus on Infrastructure & Responsible Celebrations
During the meeting, Dr. Saha directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to ensure that roads across the state are repaired before Durga Puja festivities begin. He credited the peaceful law and order situation for allowing people to enjoy the festivities throughout the night and expressed confidence that this year too, the celebrations would remain peaceful and well-managed.
