Agartala, June 13, 2025 – In a major healthcare milestone for Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today inaugurated advanced radiotherapy services at ILS Hospital, Agartala. The state-of-the-art unit has been developed in collaboration with the International Oncology Care Institute (IOCI), marking a significant advancement in cancer treatment facilities within the state.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of accessible, quality cancer treatment for the people of Tripura. “This is a step forward in our mission to ensure that no citizen has to leave the state for high-quality healthcare. This new radiotherapy setup is not just a machine—it’s hope for hundreds of patients and families,” he said.

The new radiotherapy services include high-precision cancer treatment technologies that will enable more accurate and less invasive treatment. It is expected to significantly reduce the need for out-of-state travel for cancer care.
The event was also attended by senior officials from the health department, representatives of IOCI, and medical professionals from across the state.
This development is in line with Tripura’s broader efforts to enhance its medical infrastructure. The health department has been actively working to upgrade facilities across the state, with a focus on modern technology and specialized care.
