According to CBI officials, Dr. Manoj Shirure allegedly played a significant role in facilitating access to leaked Chemistry question papers for three students. Investigators claim that the questions were sourced from another accused, P.V. Kulkarni, who is believed to be the “kingpin” of the entire paper leak operation.
Meanwhile, Tejas Harshadkumar Shah is accused of receiving leaked Physics questions from another arrested accused, Manisha Havaldar. Officials suspect that the leaked papers were circulated among selected candidates before the NEET UG 2026 examination.
The CBI stated that the arrests are part of a larger effort to uncover the entire chain of the conspiracy and identify all individuals involved in the leak.
Searches Conducted Across Multiple States
As part of the ongoing investigation, the CBI has conducted searches at 49 locations across different parts of the country. During these raids, officials seized several incriminating documents, laptops, mobile phones, and digital devices.
Investigators are currently carrying out a detailed forensic analysis of the seized materials to trace the source and spread of the leaked question papers.
“The investigation has revealed the actual source of the leakage of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics question papers that were circulated before the examination,” the agency said in an official statement.
