The Adani Foundation, in collaboration with Adani Electricity, celebrated Children’s Day 2025 on an unprecedented scale, engaging over one lakh students across 900+ schools under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The celebrations, held on November 14, were organised under the theme “Bachpan Ka Utsav”, aimed at fostering joyful learning and emotional bonding among young learners.

According to an official statement, the festivities spanned 25 wards of Mumbai as part of Project ‘Utthan’, the Foundation’s flagship educational initiative implemented with Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML).

Joyful, Activity-Based Celebrations Across Mumbai
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s emphasis on experiential learning, “Bachpan Ka Utsav” transformed classrooms into vibrant spaces of creativity and collaboration.
Students participated in:
Fun games and relay activities
Talent shows featuring singing, dance, and mimicry
Drawing, painting, and thumb-painting sessions
Brain teasers and problem-solving games
One of the highlights of the celebration was the “teachers as students” role-play, where principals and teachers switched roles with children for a day, creating a relaxed and engaging environment that strengthened student-teacher bonding.
The Foundation said the event not only brought excitement into classrooms but also helped boost confidence, improve teamwork, and encourage creative expression among students.

Project Utthan: Strengthening Foundational Learning in BMC Schools
Project Utthan, launched with a vision to ensure every child learns with “confidence, joy, and curiosity”, focuses on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) levels across Mumbai’s civic schools.
The initiative includes:
Structured academic support to bridge learning gaps
Activity-based and experiential learning modules
Capacity-building programs for teachers
Modern pedagogical tools and digital learning support
Creation of positive, inclusive classroom environments
Alignment of teaching practices with the NEP 2020 framework
Project Utthan currently operates across 25 wards, reaching over 1 lakh students annually, and aims to uplift the quality of education in government-run BMC schools.

The Children’s Day celebrations highlight the Adani Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving educational outcomes in urban public schools. Through targeted interventions and teacher training support, Project Utthan has positioned itself as one of Mumbai’s largest foundational learning initiatives.
