Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with a group of enthusiastic students on board the Vande Bharat Express during his visit to Varanasi. The students, visibly excited, shared their experiences and conversations with the Prime Minister, who also flagged off four new Vande Bharat trains, marking another milestone in India’s modern rail journey.

Students Share Their Memorable Experience
During the journey, PM Modi spent time conversing with students, encouraging them to contribute towards cleanliness, innovation, and nation-building.
One student told,
“This is my first time traveling on Vande Bharat. I feel proud to be part of this journey. PM Modi talked about keeping Varanasi clean and contributing to Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
Another student shared that the Prime Minister appreciated their painting inspired by ISRO and DRDO, adding, “He advised us to focus on cleanliness and innovation.”
A third student, selected through an essay competition on ‘Viksit Banaras’, expressed joy at interacting with the Prime Minister, while another mentioned that Modi listened to their poem.
“It feels like an airplane,” said one student, describing the train’s comfort and speed, adding that meeting the Prime Minister made it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
PM Modi Flags Off Four New Vande Bharat Trains
Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Varanasi —
Kashi–Khajuraho,
Firozpur–Delhi,
Lucknow–Saharanpur, and
Ernakulam–Bengaluru routes.
He emphasized that infrastructure development is the backbone of national growth.
“Infrastructure plays a great role in development. Once a railway station or road is built, progress naturally follows,” the Prime Minister said while addressing the gathering.
Vande Bharat: Symbol of India’s Progress
Highlighting India’s rapid strides in the railway sector, PM Modi stated that over 160 Vande Bharat trains are now operational across the country.

“NaMo Bharat and Amrit Bharat are laying the foundation for the future. Vande Bharat is for the people, by the people, and of the people,” he remarked.
He noted that these state-of-the-art trains are now being fully manufactured in India, showcasing the nation’s self-reliance and technological excellence.
Foreign observers, he added, are “amazed” to see India’s transformation in the transportation sector.
