Haryana IPS Suicide Case :
The wife of late IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, IAS officer Amneet (Apneet) Kumar, has demanded the suspension and arrest of officers named in her husband’s suicide note, calling it a “test of faith in justice and equality.” She meet Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday afternoon, submitting a detailed complaint at his official residence in Sector 24, Chandigarh.

According to sources, CM Nayab Singh Saini reached the residence at 12:30 pm and stayed until 1:15 pm, assuring that the government would look into the matter seriously.
During the meeting, IAS Amneet Kumar submitted a two-page written complaint, demanding strict action against the officers allegedly responsible for her husband’s death.
She urged the CM to ensure that an FIR is immediately registered against all individuals named in both the suicide note and the accompanying complaint, emphasizing that failure to act would set a “dangerous precedent of silence and impunity.”
Demands for Justice and Security
In her letter, Amneet Kumar demanded:
🔸Immediate suspension and arrest of all accused officers.
🔸Protection for her family, especially her two daughters, citing “serious threats and mental distress.”
🔸Safeguarding of evidence to prevent tampering or interference in the investigation.
🔸She highlighted the ongoing harassment and caste-based discrimination her husband allegedly faced, stating that the issue transcends a single tragedy—it is about justice, equality, and accountability within the system.
“This matter is not only about one officer’s death—it represents a test of faith in justice, equality, and the rule of law,” Amneet Kumar said in her letter. “The silence of the system only deepens the pain of our family and the community that looked up to him.”

Background of the Case
IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, who served with distinction in the Haryana Police, reportedly left behind a suicide note naming several senior officers, alleging harassment and professional humiliation. His untimely death has sparked widespread outrage, with civil service associations and social groups demanding an impartial probe.
As per preliminary reports, the state government has yet to announce an official inquiry committee, though calls for an independent investigation have intensified.
