Intelligence Tip Leads to Swift Action

According to police officials, the operation began after intelligence inputs were received about suspicious movement near the Satdhar bridge area in Dantewada. Acting promptly, a joint team from the Malewahi Police and CRPF’s Malewahi Camp launched a targeted search.

On reaching the location, three individuals tried to flee and hide in nearby bushes but were swiftly surrounded and detained by the forces.

The detained suspects were identified as Santu Mandavi (36), Maniram alias Manish (24), and Sukhman Mandavi (24) — all residents of Kahchenar village.

Confession Reveals IED Location

During preliminary interrogation, the trio admitted to being active members of the banned CPI (Maoist) organisation. They also confessed their involvement in a recent IED blast near Satdhar bridge that injured two CRPF jawans.

Based on their statements, the joint team searched the area and recovered a 1 kg live pressure IED, which was immediately defused on the spot by the bomb disposal unit. Several other materials used in the earlier blast were also seized.

A Naxalite identification card was found among their belongings, further confirming their Maoist links.

We remain committed to ensuring safety and peace in the region,” he said.

The detained suspects are currently under police custody, and formal arrest procedures are underway. They will be produced before the court for further legal action.

Campaign Against Naxalites Intensifies

Authorities confirmed that the anti-Naxalite campaign in Dantewada will continue with heightened patrols and coordinated intelligence to prevent insurgent regrouping. The focus remains on maintaining pressure on Maoist networks and ensuring the security of both civilians and security personnel.

This latest success underscores the effectiveness of joint operations in curbing Naxalite activities across Chhattisgarh’s red zone.
