An awareness camp and foundation stone of 1st Rural Haat in North Tripura laying ceremony for the construction of a rural field on the Jankalyan Lamp’s own land was held today, marking a major milestone for cooperative development in the North district of Tripura.

The total project cost is estimated at ₹21,38,063, of which ₹15 lakh will be funded by NABARD, Tripura Regional Office. The foundation stone was unveiled through tree irrigation and land worship rituals, symbolizing sustainability and community participation.

On behalf of Jankalyan LAMPs, MD Shri Subhash Acharjee expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, especially BDPIC Cell of TSCB, which managed the project site location, paperwork, and approvals.
The official approval letter for the project was earlier received from Hon’ble Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia during the 44th Foundation Day of NABARD on July 21, 2025, at Hotel Polo Tower.

Significance of the Project
This project holds special importance as Jankalyan Lamps Limited has become the first cooperative among 31 PACS and Lamps in North Tripura to receive approval for setting up a Rural Haat.
The new rural field is expected to strengthen local cooperative infrastructure, boost farmers’ income, and improve rural economic resilience.
