Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in New Delhi on Monday for a two-day official visit, during which he will hold the next round of Special Representatives (SR) dialogue on the boundary question with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal announced Wang’s arrival on X, writing: “Welcome to FM Mr. Wang Yi of China as he arrives in New Delhi on an official visit. Important engagements of the India-China Special Representatives and on bilateral relations over the next two days.”

Dr. Jaishankar underlined that relations between India and China are best guided by the “three mutuals” – mutual respect, mutual sensitivity, and mutual interest. He stressed that moving forward requires a candid and constructive approach from both sides.

During the talks, the two leaders held productive discussions on key bilateral issues, including:
- Economic and trade cooperation
- Pilgrimages and people-to-people exchanges
- River data sharing and border trade
- Connectivity and bilateral exchanges
The leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional and global developments.
Expressing optimism, Dr. Jaishankar said he was confident that the discussions would contribute towards building a stable, cooperative, and forward-looking relationship between India and China.
This high-level meeting is being viewed as a crucial step in restoring trust and setting the tone for stronger cooperation between the two Asian powers.
