Apple is polishing its Liquid Glass design in iOS 26 Beta 6 as the official September release draws closer. The latest changes focus on making the Lock Screen clock appear more visually integrated with the interface, while improving control button clarity.
Lock Screen Clock Gets More Transparency
In this update, the Lock Screen clock is more translucent, giving it a “floating” look that blends seamlessly with the Liquid Glass aesthetic. This creates a modern, dynamic visual but could make time harder to read against dark wallpapers.
Control Buttons Updated for Better Visibility
Apple has also enhanced the control buttons—retaining their original Liquid Glass style but enlarging the icons for improved legibility. Interestingly, Lock Screen widgets remain untouched in this beta version.
Liquid Glass: A Design Shift Unveiled at WWDC 2025
First showcased at WWDC 2025, Liquid Glass marks a bold departure from Apple’s older interface styles. It features a translucent interface that subtly distorts and reflects background elements, creating a fluid, immersive user experience.
Since June, Apple has been fine-tuning this look based on user feedback throughout the beta phase.

Addressing Accessibility Concerns
While Liquid Glass is visually stunning, some testers have noted readability challenges against certain backgrounds. Apple has responded by adding Accessibility settings to reduce transparency and boost contrast—ensuring the design remains both beautiful and functional.
With the official iOS 26 launch expected in September, these refinements signal Apple’s push to perfect the Liquid Glass experience before it reaches millions of devices worldwide.
