Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2025:

The Indian junior women’s hockey team has officially departed for Santiago, Chile, to compete in the prestigious FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2025, scheduled from December 1 to 13. The 20-member squad, led by captain Jyoti Singh, left from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, on Sunday night amid high expectations and strong confidence.

India Placed in Pool C

India has been drawn in Pool C, alongside Germany, Ireland, and Namibia. The team will open its campaign against Namibia on December 1, followed by Germany on December 3 and Ireland on December 5.
Only the top teams from each pool will qualify for the knockout stage, beginning December 7.

Competition Overview

A total of 24 teams will participate in the tournament across six pools:

Pool A: Netherlands, Japan, Chile, Malaysia

Pool B: Argentina, Belgium, Zimbabwe, Wales

Pool C: India, Germany, Ireland, Namibia

Pool D: England, South Africa, China, Austria

Pool E: Australia, Spain, Canada, Scotland

Pool F: USA, Korea, New Zealand, Uruguay

With world heavyweights like the Netherlands, Argentina and Australia in the lineup, teams will face a highly competitive championship.

Led by chief coach Tushar Khandker, the Indian contingent features a strong mix of experience and emerging talent across positions.

Speaking ahead of departure, Chief Coach Tushar Khandker expressed confidence in the squad’s preparations, stating:
“We are all ready and very excited to travel to Chile. The girls are fully motivated to perform their best at the World Cup.”
