The India Meteorological Department has issued a widespread weather alert across Uttar Pradesh as dark cloud cover and volatile atmospheric conditions continue to intensify across the state.

According to officials, the current weather pattern is being driven by an active western disturbance combined with local pressure systems, leading to unstable conditions—particularly in eastern Uttar Pradesh and the Terai region.

Orange Alert in Multiple Regions
An orange alert has also been issued for a wider region, including: Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), Varanasi, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Azamgarh, Hardoi, Sitapur, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shravasti, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Pilibhit.
These districts are likely to experience moderate thunderstorms, lightning, and winds between 40–60 kmph.
