Joining the nation in commemorating the 150th anniversary of India’s national song, Vande Mataram, the Tripura State Co-operative Bank Ltd. (TSCB) on Friday organized a mass-level singing event at its Head Office in Agartala.
The celebration was graced by Sri Bhajan Chandra Ray, Managing Director, Sri Biswajit Kumar Datta, General Manager (Credit), and Smt. Aparna Debbarma, General Manager (Administration), along with senior officials and staff members of the bank.

A Tribute to the Spirit of the Nation
The programme saw heartfelt participation from employees, who came together to sing Vande Mataram in unison — symbolizing unity, devotion, and respect for Mother India. The event reflected the bank’s commitment to national values and collective harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Bhajan Chandra Ray said, “Vande Mataram is not just a song but a spiritual bond that unites every Indian with the emotion of patriotism. On this historic occasion, we reaffirm our dedication to the progress and unity of our nation.”

National Commemoration Across India
The nationwide celebration marks 150 years since Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay composed the iconic song ‘Vande Mataram’, which became a rallying cry during India’s freedom struggle.
President Droupadi Murmu, in her message on the anniversary, described the song as a “timeless symbol of national unity and emotional consciousness.”
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long national commemoration in New Delhi, launching a portal — vandemataram150.in — where citizens can upload videos of singing the national song to receive certificates of participation.

The initiative by Tripura State Co-operative Bank Ltd. reflects how institutions in Tripura are actively participating in cultural and patriotic activities that celebrate India’s heritage.
Employees expressed pride in being part of the event, echoing the sentiments shared nationwide — that Vande Mataram remains an everlasting expression of unity, courage, and love for the motherland.
