In a landmark step toward advancing women’s empowerment and strengthening the rural economy, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the ‘Samriddhi Abhiyan’ under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Saturday.

The campaign, launched on August 1, 2025, aims to fulfill the vision of creating “Lakhpati Didis” — women who are financially self-reliant and contributing meaningfully to the state’s economy.
Samriddhi Abhiyan Empowering 4.86 Lakh Women Through Self-Help Groups
Addressing the event, CM Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion and entrepreneurship among rural women
“The strength of our rural economy lies in the hands of empowered women. Through Samriddhi Abhiyan, we aim to ensure that every Self-Help Group (SHG) member becomes self-reliant and a role model of progress,” the Chief Minister said.
Currently, more than 4.86 lakh rural women are part of 54,170 SHGs, 2,479 Village Organizations, and 174 Cluster-Level Federations (CLFs) across the state under TRLM. Since 2018, SHG members have collectively availed loans worth ₹1,773 crore, maintaining an impressive 98% repayment rate.
Loan Targets Surpassed, ₹198 Crore Disbursed
Originally targeting ₹110 crore in loan disbursements for its first month, the Samriddhi Abhiyan exceeded expectations by achieving ₹198 crore, underscoring both women’s enthusiasm and the effectiveness of TRLM’s framework.
During the state-level event, the Chief Minister distributed an additional ₹100 crore as Community Investment Fund (CIF) among Cluster-Level Federations to boost rural enterprises and micro-businesses.

Transforming Rural Women into Entrepreneurs
According to TRLM officials, the initiative has turned thousands of women into self-reliant entrepreneurs engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, and handicrafts.
“The Samriddhi Abhiyan will take this movement to the next level, ensuring no woman is left behind in Tripura’s development journey,” said Rural Development Secretary Abhishek Singh.
With 95% of the targeted 1.14 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ already achieving the milestone, Tripura’s success story continues to inspire the rest of India in rural transformation and women-led growth.
