The Tripura government has approved a massive recruitment drive for 407 New Govt Jobs across multiple departments, marking one of the state’s largest coordinated hiring decisions in recent years. The approval came during Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury informed reporters at the State Secretariat on Wednesday.

Massive Opportunity Ahead: 407 New Govt Jobs

Chowdhury said the new positions reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening public service delivery, filling long-pending vacancies, and improving administrative efficiency. He described the move as “a reflection of the government’s people-centric and development-driven approach.”

97 Posts Approved Under Cooperative Department

The Cabinet cleared 97 Group-C fixed-pay posts under the Cooperative Department, to be filled through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
The posts include:

  • Auditor
  • Investigator
  • Statistical Investigator

These appointments aim to enhance auditing, financial transparency, and ground-level cooperative operations.

ICDS Supervisor Hiring Through TPSC

The Social Welfare and Social Education Department will recruit 28 ICDS Supervisors through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
These supervisors will strengthen Anganwadi monitoring, oversee nutrition programmes, and improve the delivery of child and maternal welfare schemes across the state.

14 New Technical Posts for Urban Development

With rapid urbanisation underway, the Cabinet approved 14 new technical positions in the Urban Development Department, including:

  • Civil Engineer
  • Mechanical Engineer
  • Electrical Engineer
  • Public Health Engineer

These posts will support critical infrastructure projects related to water supply, sanitation, roads, and municipal systems.

Tripura Film and Television Institute to Get New Faculty

To upgrade media education, the government approved 8 contractual faculty and staff posts for the Tripura Film and Television Institute (TFTI).
The posts include:

  • Associate Professor (Screen Acting)
  • Associate Professor (Film & Video Editing)
  • Editor-cum-Demonstrator
  • Senior Technical Officer (Maintenance & IT)
  • Sound Recording & Mixing Engineer
  • Academic Coordinator
  • Two Media Lab Attendants

This step is expected to strengthen the institute’s academic output and support young media professionals.

119 New Anganwadi Centres, 238 Posts Sanctioned

The Social Welfare Department will set up 119 new Anganwadi Centers, creating:

  • 119 Anganwadi Worker posts
  • 119 Anganwadi Helper posts

This major expansion aims to improve nutrition, preschool education, and maternal health services in underserved communities.

22 Night Guards for School Education Department

To enhance school campus security, the Cabinet sanctioned 22 Group-D Night Guard posts under the Secondary Education Department.

Additional Key Decisions

The Cabinet also approved major institutional reforms:

  • Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) will be upgraded to Tripura Technical University.
  • Agartala Women’s College will be elevated to a State Women’s University.
  • The Tripura Journalist Pension Scheme has been revised to offer better benefits to working and retired journalists.

Chowdhury said these decisions collectively aim to boost human resource capacity, strengthen technical and social institutions, and enhance public service delivery throughout Tripura.
