In a significant move toward promoting sustainable agriculture, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare distributed Soil Health Cards to local farmers at the Kharchi Mela 2025, setting a new record in farmer engagement during the state’s most iconic festival.

The stall, located beside the Krishnamala stage at the Kharchi Puja fairground in Old Agartala, witnessed a large turnout on the very first day. This initiative is part of the government’s broader mission to educate farmers about soil health management, organic farming, and climate-resilient agriculture.
The event was graced by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, who inaugurated the Agriculture Department’s exhibition stall. On the occasion, the department presented the CM with samples of organic rice, millet, and farm-fresh products, showcasing the region’s rich agricultural diversity.

- Distribution of Soil Health Cards to farmers of Old Agartala subdivision
