TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Wednesday reaffirmed the party’s dominance in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), asserting that no political force can defeat them. Speaking at Agartala during an induction event, Pradyot confidently stated that the party will perform even better in the 2026 District Council elections than in 2021.

New Joinings Boost TIPRA Motha’s Momentum
The statement came after Pradyot welcomed Mayabati Chakma, BJP Mohila Morcha President from the 49-Chawmanu Assembly Constituency, into the TIPRA Motha Party. Several others also joined the party of their own accord.
Pradyot emphasized that Motha has never forced or invited people for membership.
“People may say anything, but our support is in the villages. Even today, no one can defeat us. Many have joined out of their own willingness, and I welcome them,” he said.
H2: ‘Only Party Speaking For Indigenous People’
Reiterating TIPRA Motha’s core ideology, Pradyot asserted that it is the only political outfit in Tripura that exclusively speaks for indigenous communities.
“There is no other party except TIPRA Motha that speaks about and only for the indigenous people,” he said, reinforcing the party’s commitment to tribal rights, identity, and regional political aspirations.
Response to BJP Leader’s Remarks
The TIPRA Motha chief indirectly responded to BJP general secretary Bipin Debbarma, who had recently claimed that the party was “losing ground” in tribal areas.
Without naming him directly, Pradyot remarked:
“I don’t respond to small leaders. If any big leader had said it, then I could have responded. Leaders may say anything, but the ground support is ours.”
He added that the party’s presence and trust remain strong at the grassroots level, particularly in remote tribal villages where TIPRA Motha secured sweeping victories in 2021.

Good Relationship With Chief Minister Manik Saha
Pradyot also clarified that political competition does not affect personal relationships.
“I have good communication with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and maintain a good relationship. People know the trust and the fact,” he said.
The remark signals that TIPRA Motha may maintain political cooperation with the state government while pushing its core agenda.
Looking Ahead to the 2026 TTAADC Elections
With new members joining and the leadership projecting confidence, TIPRA Motha is preparing for a strong electoral battle in 2026. The party aims to surpass its historic 2021 performance, where it secured an overwhelming mandate in the District Council.
As political dynamics shift in Tripura, Pradyot’s bold declaration sets the tone for an intense lead-up to the 2026 polls.
